I added a search box on the sidebar to the right. I’ve had people email me asking if I’ve written about this or that. Feel free to use that box to search for anything on this blog, it is a great tool for that.
Also thanks to those of you who shared some of your painful Summit stories. That is just one example of why I love blogging.
Blogs
- We raised over $1,300 for Vernonia during the praise night last Friday. Awesome!
- I blogged about sex addiction when I talked about the book Porn Nation. Here is a blog that gives you a first hand experience of what it truly is and how it effects people.
- Pastor Greg Laurie lost his son to a car accident. It is kind of surreal to me because he looks so much like my dad. This is a video of him sharing about the loss.
- Phil Wickham recorded a live album in Portland back in May. I was there. Now you can get that album for free on his blog.
- Jill is blogging!!!! She has an awesome post about people being bored in church. Head over there and say hi.
- Todd Hiedstand on being the church in suburban America. Great stuff.
- Romal Tune on the question of whether he is liberal or conservative. It is pretty sad that I get asked this a lot. Even more sad that people form their opinion about me around the answer (as if there is a great answer).
News
- This is the best article I’ve seen on the petty level the Presidential race has stooped to in recent weeks. I hear now that McCain has ads ripping on Obama for taking a week of. Seriously?
- For those of who you do not think the mob is real, read this.
- Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife interviewed with ABC News. I don’t know how you can watch it without crying.
- Tim Hughes has a sweet new song “Jesus Saves”.
- Big news the past 24 hours…John Edwards had an affair. I have 2 thoughts: why now? and stop throwing stones at him from the sidelines.
- For those of you who missed the Opening Ceremony last night, you really missed out. It was absolutely incredible. That is the very best way I can describe it.
For those of you who think I’m too serious on this blog: please enjoy this (below). Ross, Matt, and I were best friends in high school. We always danced to techno in Ross’ car. We decided it was time to do our first techno video shoot.
I can’t believe I’m actually posting this on my blog.
Tyler Braun.
That is an amazing video. I preach the 17th and I think I am going to have to figure out a way to use this as some sort of random illustration.
Ummm…could you maybe choreograph some liturgical dance moves for this next Sunday’s set? No words…
Yeah…screw countdown videos. All churches must use this instead!
It’s probably a good thing we cut out all of the nudity in the video.
Loved the video.
One question, why is looking into the character of someone throwing stones? Edwards denied any relationship.
Yes we all fall but when we lie about it it shows what we believe about our mistakes. It says we believe we are above them and not accountable.
Holdping someone accountable for me isn’t throwing stones. That is one of the areas Obama has seemed to understand. He doesn’t dance around childhood indescrsesion. I think it is one reason people trust him.
Wow apparently everyone loves the video. I’m shocked. I hope this doesn’t become some youtube prodigy. That was our biggest fear from the beginning. I purposely didn’t make it have its own post in fear of even more people watching it.
Darin- I’m not disagreeing with you. I just see the media and bloggers attacking him left and right. Sometimes we offer grace too easily, but not this time. He deserves some grace as much as I want to question everything about it.
Also…I am way behind on responding to comments from the past 3 or 4 days, SO SORRY!
The problem is that I don’t have time to catch up. I’ll do my best to respond in the comments section but probably not over email back to you all.
in a word, wow.
I saw some sinful moves in there LOL.
bwahahahaha… that made my night.
UH…..you didn’t do that at my party! Wow…wow.. and double wow!
Tyler, I loved the light switch moves. Don’t have strobe? No prob.
You are a brave man. I laughed and laughed. If my husband did this I would assume he was drunk or mentally ill. He ONLY dances when Bama or LSU makes a touchdown (hence the name “touchdown dance”) or when he beats me in playing Wii, which I don’t think is very loving.
So clean it up a bit and bring it out for worship next week. And video that too. Wow!
Holy Crap!
Although the light show was amazing.
Hahahaha!!!!
I just threw up a little in my mouth.
wow! haha!!!
Oh…my…goodness. Inspiration, spectacle, creativity, a triumph of the human spirit – that was awesome.
Nice cardio Tyler, you danced your man into the ground.
I think I’ll make this my new workout vid.
