Fortuitous Bouncing

I’m excited to not dress up for Halloween…but that is because I’m lame. I’m excited for basketball season to start next week. I’m excited that gas prices are plummeting…I’m not excited that they are dropping only because the stock market has tanked.

Sunny and 67 in Portland…all week! Don’t be too jealous.

not dressing up for halloween? bummer…i found the holiday gets more fun the older i am…(hey the holiday is what you make it) and my friend, from england/africa who has never really celebrated the holiday is going all to throw a party…it’s really funny.

i agree w/ you about the campaigns and their clothes. they wan to help the poor? shop at a normal mall and take the 1/2 off sales…the rest of that could seriously be still helping victims from the hurricanes this year, which seem to have been forgotten.

on the separate but equal story…loren cunningham, founder of ywan has a powerful book on the topic called “why not women?” it addresses those few scriptures that are taken out of context concerning women in today’s christianity…

What’s a ymam? Different breed of Yam?

Man it sucks…weather is nice outside and I’m still battling my light flu (don’t worry Tyler, I’ll be at church on Sunday)

“youth with a mission” you know who they are yonas, right? surely…you do…

  6. Yonas says:

Ah no, I’m not as smart as you think.

But thanks, I learned something new today :)

loved the article about gender roles, she made a point I’ve been arguing for years! (still struggling with my approach to this as a blogging topic – it’s such a big deal for me) I would add this – I don’t believe that true spiritual authority can ever come from gender or even position or role. It must come from obedience to Christ, no matter what our role or position may be. It flows out of how we live. Thanks for sharing.

well yonas if you haven’t already googled the org, basically they are a missionary organization that often focuses on taking young people on short or long term missions around the world, preaching the gospel, church planting etc…
