For Those Who Care

For those of you who care, my post on Colin Powell from last week was posted on the blog ReveLife. ReveLife self-describes itself as a Christian community blog.

Not surprisingly almost everyone disagrees with me. People freak out when it comes to faith in politics…maybe I should have worded it differently. With that said, I still believe everything I wrote. Head over there and check out some of the bashing of what I wrote.

I must say that the comments made for some interesting reading. Probably gives a pretty good depiction of an average slice of Christian America.

I guess that disappoints me even more if the young Christians are really voting for Obama because he is a Christian. A candidate’s faith is not the first thing I look at …. it’s all about life … Christian or non-Christian. We must stand up for the defenseless … first the unborn … and then move on to the others who need our help.

I don’t my point was that Christians should vote based on a candidates faith first or solely. I was saying that it plays a role, probably a key role for many people. We should vote based on our beliefs and convictions, and Christians have similar beliefs and convictions.

i saw an interview with colin powell that was hilarious……he was asked why is he supporting obama? his response was something like this…I like what he says and believes….the reporter…are you supporting him bc he is black….colin…absolutely not…..then why haven’t you ever supported any white liberals…..It was hilarious. I used to really respect Colin Powell.
