Fridays Are For New Music

Well I’m off to class for the third to last time for the semester. The good thing is that things are winding down. The bad thing is that I have a ton of stuff to do in the next a month for my classes.

Alright for today’s new music, THE KILLERS. I saw this video yesterday of their new song “Human.”

I’d give the song a B+, but I’d give the video an absolute A+. It took me over a minute to figure out what was going on and the whole video to figure out how they did it. I’m still awe-struck.

Check it out. Incredibly creative.

I wish I was that creative.

so, here’s the thing, since this song is played on the radio now….i like the sound of the song much more than i do the lyrics….the chorus esp just seems….corny almost? out of place is probably better. the video is very technologically creative and that’s cool. i still would vote lower for the video, B at best…

I’m going to have to agree with Ric. I’ve never EVER seen anything like this before. Incredible.

boys you need to get out more.
either way, one of the reasons i gave it such a rating is b/c the video you see is live at the mtv ema 08 awards. it’s basically a big screen behind them. granted they had the more creative set during their play but other artists such as “greatest day” (i think that’s what they’re called), katy perry and others used similar effects.
video alone, i’d go for a higher rating on groups like radiohead (even though they’re weird), sia, or other indie artists who use simplicity to display brilliant.
but it’s nevertheless a difference in style and preference!

that is the coolest use of a screen I have ever seen.
