Give Me Your Eyes

This past weekend at Sunset we did what we called a “choreodrama.” Basically it was a choreographed drama with a live band playing a song. Yours truly is playing acoustic and singing (but you can’t hear my voice in the mix, sorry).

I wonder what my life would look like if I really lived these lyrics? That is a scary thought.

You can check out the video of it below (Video Embedded RSS readers):

The star of the song was Jay McKenney. And Jesus too :)

You dig it?

at nlc, we used to call these “living videos” …as in a music video, live. wink. this was frequent way that john would communicate at our youth group. though i don’t remember ever doing them to a live band.. it’s a really cool idea and you guys did really really well. the message was fantastically presented (and how thought provoking the lyrics are) and stage quality worked… (these are the kind of things that inspired me to want to go into music video production)

    loved that we tried this
    loved Dania’s direction
loved Jay’s honest owning of the lyric
    loved the live band element
loved the ownership of the video team with minimal rehearsal
    loved that we tried this

was thinking of your link to the pastor who hung out in his parking lot… would have been cool to have Ron do this on stage for this element :-)

This “drama” made me think a lot more about the words of the songs & hopefully will continue to help me keep my “eyes open” for possibilities to love others.
