Why I Love Portland

I’ve noticed this video being all over the place in the past week, but I wanted to post it for those of you who haven’t had a chance to watch it yet.

It took me about 10 years to start enjoying Oregon and Portland, but I am now officially a fan…of it all.

(come here RSS readers to watch the video)

If you’ve been here or lived here, what do you love about Portland most?

This is a beautifully done clip. Yes, Portland has a lot to offer.
One thing not represented though, is the fact that there’s an average of 222 cloudy days a year. Oh, and that wet stuff.

In spite of it all, I’m happy that you’re a fan of the total package.

I guess no matter where you live, it’s making the most of the opportunities, and letting go of the annoying aspects.

    Portland has many pluses.

Portland is a great city. If we had more international community/market place like New York’s little Italy, little Tokyo, etc it would be even better.

Not to be too much of a naysayer and having lived here 18.5 years I love the anti-California attitude cuz the’re are just as many Oregon nut cases as California… in fact perhaps a bit more as a percentage of the population.

All in all, most places have good and bad. I LOVE NoPo. it’s the best part of the city IMHO

Having moved to Arizona nearly 3 years ago, I miss Portland immensely. I miss the food, the coffee, the microbrews, the parks, the neighborhoods, the hiking in the Gorge, the beauty of Cannon Beach, and the wonderfully quirky people I would meet living off SE 20th and Hawthorne.

    Now I have city envy.

  5. cool video, been there many times and loved it, had family in Corvallis and Eugene but don’t seem to be able to make it out there much living on the east coast.

Portland is one of my favorite cities! I live closer to Seattle but enjoy the accessibility and quirkiness of Portland. Would like to live there some day. I kid my wife saying that we should retire to a little 2nd floor apartment in the Pearl and we can hang out all day in the coffee shops and cafes.
