I've seen that depressing number before. I read through all the comments on Todd's site, and while I understand cynicism over how a church spends it's money, I've also seen the personal benefits ("blessings" if you will) of tithing to a church. In addition, I have led various ministries over the past 15+ years, and I've been turned down many times when asking for money--and not for frivolous things, either. In my list of 'life disappointments,' this kind of thing ranks high up there for me. I tell hubs all the time -- "Give me a person with a God-sized vision, and I'll carry it out." I have now added to that list "...a person with a God-sized vision who also happens to be rich..." Oh, the tithe issue. I’ve seen that depressing number before. Ever since my bride and I started to tithe, things changed for us. We've had our struggles, but God always provides. Always. Snow in Chicago concerns me as well.
