The Best Way to Read Blogs
I currently read 90 blogs.
I read about 40 blogs of friends and family and then 50 other blogs of people I enjoy reading and learning from.
I know…you are thinking I’m crazy to be reading all of those blogs.
The honest truth is that it isn’t that hard.
I use Google Reader and it takes care of most of the work for me.
If you read this blog and aren’t using a feed reader (Google Reader is a feed reader) then you really should be. In fact, if you read blogs at all and you aren’t using Google Reader you are spending a lot more time than you could be if you used it.
Watch this video on how to best use Google Reader and then be kind and subscribe to this blog on it. If you would rather read posts over email, you can get my posts over email by going here.
(If you can’t see the video go here)
I want to thank each and every one of you who comes by the site. To those of you who already are subscribed to this blog, thank you very much. I’m grateful for your willingness to read all of my posts and engage in the comments as well.
Tyler Braun.
Just read this in Google Reader. Love Google Reader.
I was a netvibes user for some time, but gave Google Reader a 2nd chance, and haven’t used netvibes in months.
Blessings!
90 that is it? Just kidding.
Google reader has saved me a lot of time and frustration. I remember LBGR (Life Before Google Reader) I read about 10 blogs, now I read close to 90 like yourself. Good stuff and another great tool made by google
You are very welcome! Reading your blog is the best 90seconds of my day! I love your content…always fresh and deep…I love your middle of the road/I never take a position on anything approach to politics…I love the way you cloak your silly personal life and focus more on important things like theology, the weather or sports…I love manofdepravity.com! Plain and simple.
A lot of people tell me that I’m too opinionated on this blog. I guess blogging is like music in church…everyone is unhappy and would do it differently.
Google Reader is definitely the best way to manage both content and the structure of what blogs you read. (Even if you have to click “Mark all as read” every once in a while) Great post.
Oh, and ps. just added this to the Reader.
[...] in order to keep up with blog content when wanting to read numerous blogs. Tyler Braun wrote about using Google Reader. I think if I were to use a reader it would be one from Google since they, in conjunction with [...]
Not so sure about the Google Reader. Here is my response: http://www.subversiveREFORMATION.com
Peace.
I cut mine down from around 90 to around 40. And yours is on the list. Hollah from Google Reader.
yeah, i use the reader as well…there’s probably only about 10-15 i read every single day and the rest as they update, –w/ online magazines, news-sources and the like that i’ m heavily involved in (as to the need of my job)…reader keeps it organized! the one website that i wish would rss is current tv. but i’m on it enough that it works out …their vanguard journalists keep blog/rss…..
How does anyone read blogs without Google Reader???
Thanks for always being one of the most interesting Tyler. Except the sports posts
haha
Google Reader is great. I am always recommending it to people, I was even gonna write a post on it but I’m glad you did it, now I’ll share yours.
I’m subscribed to your blog via Google Reader! I’ve told you this before: even though I am not a religious or even spiritual person, you cover a wide range of relevant topics and your writing and blog are inspirations to me! Thank you!
