The Big One

It might seem weird for me to write about sports only 2 days after posting about the negative aspects of Christianity and sports interacting. But, come on…The Super Bowl is in 4 days and we all need to declare where our loyalties lie.

I’ll be honest…not much of me is happy to be watching this game without my team in it. They were clearly the better team a week ago but choked it away (the worst way to lose). And as painful as the loss was it makes it even harder to even think of rooting for the team that barely deserves to be there.

With that said, I’m picking the Colts to win on Sunday, 31-21 over the Saints.

Who do you think will win?

Tyler, we are in Miami right now. South Beach is roped off (the actual beach part) due to ESPN having taken it over with all kinds of activities. Party “buses” are all over town. (let’s hope they are not filled with players) We leave on Thursday and we’ve heard that’s the day most people are coming in for the game. It’s kinda crazy to be in town Super Bowl week….

  2. I’m from Louisiana, so I have to go with the Saints.

Pulling for the Saints (Always have been a fan of Drew Brees since Purdue), but in my heart I believe the Colts will win.

The whole you are going to give watching football a shot this year didn’t work out well eh?

Yeah, I’d still rather read than watch football. But I *did* watch some of the Vikings game, and I agree they were probably the better team. But that’s why they play the game.

    Colts 31
    Saints 24

I think the whole freeney thing is fake and they are playing games. At least that is what I hope because if he really is injured the saints could pull this off.

I would be quite shocked if the Colts lose, unless the Saints go up by 21 in the first half. But eventually, Peyton will figure any defense out. It will just be a matter of how long that takes and how much they may be down, if they’re even down at all.

I say Colts by at least 13…

I don’t see the Saints winning, but it would be nice to see a quarterback who supposedly wasn’t cut out for the NFL coming out of college pick up a Super Bowl ring and an MVP award (since unless someone has a ridiculous game statwise the MVP award is a prize for the winning quarterback).

    Colts 35 “Aint’s” 28

I think it’s going to be a close game, but the Colts will win, IF they continue to protect the ball. Manning will dismantle the defense in the 2nd half, as he always does. But I still give the Saints a chance… if they can play super physical against Reggie Wayne and bully the younger receivers, they might get a few takeaways.
The Colts are the new Patriots. Manning was always up to the task (of leading a dynasty) but now they finally have more than 2 other guys stepping up.
    Can’t wait til Sunday….
