Fortuitous Bouncing

I’ve had a lot of people ask me whether the eagle pictures and video is real. While I won’t claim to taking the awesome pictures (my mother in law did in the same car as I was in) they are very legit. It was one of the highlights of the trip. Some of those birds had the most humungous wing spans…

  1. This is such an awesome video.
  2. As if you needed more reasons not to blog on Livejournal…they cut 70% of their workforce this week.
  3. Adam at Pomomusings is blogging through a book on homosexuality. While I disagree with his stance, I welcome his desire to have an open dialog about the subject.
  4. What Obama may look like after 4 years of being in office.
  5. Believe it or not, people were surfing in Homer this week. It was in the newspaper when we were there, and here is a picture for proof.
  6. A new year’s tradition shared by Don Miller.
  7. Obama wants to delay the digital tv transition.
  8. Drop 10 Facebook “friends” and get a whopper. Being that almost everyone has friends they don’t even know on Facebook, I see this as a noble idea.
  9. The sex industry needs some bailout so they say.

Is the whopper thing for real? I’ve dropped two this year…and maybe I’ve also helped somebody else got their free whopper.

Delaying the Digital TV transition … seriously?? I can’t think of anything that has been talked about more outside of the election this year. Guess what happens to the handful of people (besides my family) that don’t have cable and didn’t get their converter box .. they go without tv until they get themselves to the store and buy one. The government is even subsidizing the boxes. Can’t believe this even made the long list of things that our new president (heavy sigh) has to deal with right now.

My understanding is that the subsidizing has run out of money or hasn’t worked quite as well as anticipated. I don’t even understand why anything has to change, but I don’t care much either way.
