Time For a Change

You might remember this post from close to a year ago.

It was the day we sold Rose’s car and she started driving mine most of the time. Rose had an oversized mountain bike (for her) that I thought could make due for me to ride between work and home (about a half mile ride, takes me 5 minutes usually).

Well after riding that little mountain bike (it definitely is not big enough for me) for close to a year I’ve decided it is time for an upgrade. I’m in the market for a road bike.

I really don’t want to spend more than $200 because it doesn’t make much sense to spend a ton of money when I’m not an avid biker. I’ll only ride it to work and I’ll also start riding it to class and my possible internship with The Mentoring Project (won’t know for a few more weeks).

So I’m wondering what advice you have (I know nothing about road bikes) or info you have on what I should be looking for at bike shops and on Craigslist. What makes a good deal? What brands are solid?

And I’m also wondering if you might have one sitting in your garage that you never use that I could buy from you.

Help a brother out here.
