Plethora

This is another post in a series I’ll be doing of questions that some of you asked. If you would like to add your question, go here and do so.

Today’s question is from Kurt. He is the middle school director at Sunset. He asked several questions:

If you were President would you run as a Democrat or Republican?

If I wanted to be elected I would choose between the two. If I wanted to be true to myself I would run as an Independent, like Mayor Bloomberg has. That said, I would probably run as a Republican. Or I’d try and be a history maker and be the first President in the modern age to win as an Independent.

Do you think bikes should be treated as cars on Portland’s roadways?

In most cases I think the answer here is yes. It frustrates me to no end how few roads have room for bikes. And even then if there is any road debris, road crews do a great job of cleaning off the car lane, only to leave a bunch of tree limbs in the bike lane. In the end it takes an awareness and sacrifice from both a car driver and a cyclist for Portland’s roads to be safe for both modes of transportation. I do my best to be aware of the cars driving around me.

How far is too far?

I assume that you mean before marriage, how far should a couple go physically in their relationship. I would say that anything that has the word sex in it is too far. Generally speaking anything below the neck should be off limits as well. Beyond that, I believe that each person knows when they are turned on in a way where they lose control and the feeling of it gains control.

What is Rose’s middle name? What do you love the most about her? Do you think people have a soul-mate? Should single people seek their opposite or someone just like them?

Seems a little creepy to share Rose’s middle name on this blog, so I won’t do that here. You can ask me in person if you care that much.

What I love about Rose most is that she always cares.

I think through the course of life’s events that we are able to find our soul mate. I don’t think everyone ends up with their soul mate though.

Single people should figure out who they are in order to know whether they can handle someone who is opposite of them. Rose and I are definitely opposites and while being in a relationship with your opposite is more difficult at times, it can also have huge benefits. But really, it is all about what works best for you. Rose and I being opposite has led to a lot of growth for each of us in sacrificing and learning from each other.
