Your Favorite Song

Being a musician, I listen to music a lot. I typically don’t stray into the country genre, or into the classical genre much. I tend to prefer the acoustic driven singer-songwriter style of music. But I do enjoy a wide variety of music.

I’m wondering…

What is your favorite song right now?

If you’re curious, this is mine.

One of my current favorite songs is Forget & Not Slow Down by Relient K.

It’s been out since October, but I have a tendency to listen to albums for months at a time..

I’ve been listening a lot lately to ‘The Raconteurs’ a band formed with Jack White of the White Stripes and three others forming a full band. Steady As She Goes is one of the better songs on the album.

The song I am digging right now has to be a tie between
DCB God of Wrath, none compares or Phil Wickhams In Your City.

Don’t want to get all Christian music on you here, but I really dig these songs.

And when I said God of Wrath, None Compares…I meant God Almighty, none compares

Kings of Leon are legit. We covered Use Somebody for walk in music last weekend at middle school camp. That was fun.

I could name so many right now that I love, but if I could only have two in my life right now(yeah right) it’d be:

    1. Amelia- Matthew Perryman Jones

    2. Fix You- Coldplay *that bridge is legit.*

Good recommendations all around so far. Tyler, I think our musical tastes line up on a lot of levels.

2 votes for Mumford and Sons on this post. Hadn’t heard of them (I know…sorry, I’m lame). I LOVE IT. Totally digging them.

does it have to “christian” songs, my worship leader friend? wink.

two artists that i am really into right now are – finley quaye (acoustic-base, some indie rock & even reggae) & elbow (indie)

although, i’m loving jay-z ‘s “young forever” remake

as for the worship stuff: i never get tired of “revelation song”

If you like Mumford & Sons, you should look up Augie March for an Australian take on that style of folk

It’s been a long time since I tried to define my favourite song of the moment because I do listen to so much of it, and it changes daily.

But I’m definitely enjoying not listening to the church album I spent last year producing over and over again.

If I had to pick a favourite artist right now it would be Grizzly Bear. I think.

Elbow are one of the finest UK bands right now.

And Finley may be a little quirky, but I loved his first two albums : Maverick A Strike, and Vanguard

LOVE THAT SONG. My favorite part is the “ooh ooh ooh, ooh ooh ohhhhhh” section. It’s like an anthem raising. And I love it.

JJ is awesome….had many chances to hang with them here in Arizona. They have quite the nice little family. I’m glad to hear others are catching on to her music.

Oh yeah. My friend told me about her a few years ago and I’ve been a fan ever since!
