My Prayer Today

This is my prayer today…it is mostly just for me, but I have a feeling it might be a great prayer for you to pray today today as well.

For those of you in need of hope, my hope is that these words wash over you with immense power and touch.

The thought of my suffering and homelessness
is bitter beyond words.
I will never forget this awful time,
as I grieve over my loss.
Yet I still dare to hope
when I remember this:

The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!”

The Lord is good to those who depend on him,
to those who search for him.
So it is good to wait quietly
for salvation from the Lord.

(Lamentations 3: 19-26, NLT)

in the middle of the saddest stories of the bible: the lament of the prophet as he watched his people be held captive… women were eating their own babies… and his friends were forced to be slaves… we find one of the most beautiful scriptures of God’s faithfulness. how appropriate that jeremiah chose to write this to remind us that God’s faithfulness has nothing to do with our circumstances.

i absolutely love this verse. this verse got me through some tough times in my life. i would speak it over myself every day.
