If You Really Knew Me

Today’s post was inspired by this.

If you really knew me…

You would know that me riding a bike to work has nothing to do with politics.

You would know I enjoy leading students in worship because they never complain that I didn’t sing their favorite hymn.

You would know my name is Tyler and hardly anyone ever calls me Ty.

You would know why this blog is named man of depravity.

You would know I hate olives, mushrooms, pickles, and anything else gross like them.

You would know I’ve had a hole in one.

You would know that many people think of me as cocky, but really I’m just introverted.

You would know that I never realized how selfish I was until I got married.

You would know I hate cats.

You would know that everyday that begins has some sort of plan in my head.

You would know that my relationship with God is the most difficult and fulfilling in my life.

You would know that I always view myself as a worship leader before a musician.

And lastly, you would know that nothing frustrates me more than churches who are holding onto the past and in turn losing out on the future.

Your turn.

“You would know that many people think of me as cocky, but really Iā€™m just introverted.”

Wow. That one resonates with me.

Where in the world did that Gravatar come from??? Weird.

I have had the same thing said about me being cocky.
I would go with your same answer, introvert.

But also I think that it comes down to confidence in what you are doing which makes people think that you think you are better then them. It sucks to hear when people say that about you, but I work hard to move forward in what I am doing and want to be confident in myself.

    A couple for me:
If you really knew me you would know that I wish I wasn’t single but married with kids.

If you really knew me you would know that I love sports but hate women sports.

If you really knew me you would know that I can be pretty introverted when I meet someone knew, but love to be around people.

If you really knew me you would know that I can be pretty selfish in wanting my way.

If you really knew me you would know that I think so much about the future that I am often let down by the present.

Just a couple off the top of my head.

I am thankful for who you are and that God connected us. Not much else to say.

    Good stuff, man.

If you really knew me, you’d know that I’m jealous that you’ve had a hole in one.

    If you really knew me, you’d know I shot a 1 over 73 yesterday after a 7-month layoff….pretty stoked.

If you really knew me, you’d know that I struggle with pride from time to time.

If you really knew me, you’d know I try not to care about my blog traffic, but I do.

If you really knew me, you’d know that I struggle with both of my parents on a number of levels.

If you really knew me, you’d know that my wife and I are asking some hard questions about our church right now.

If you really knew me, you’d know that my wife is the jam.

If you really knew me you would know sometimes I talk alot.
If you really knew me you would know I love being around kids, but I don’t want to spend all of my time with them.
If you really knew me you would know I can’t help but think about the future.

I really enjoyed youth Sunday at Sunset. It was nice seeing and hearing from different people at Sunset. It would be nice to hear the youth band every once in a while on Sundays.

    mmm…

if you really knew me, you’d know that i have serious introverted side that craves alone time, but i’m often mis-interpreted b/c i can get along w/ almost anyone.

if you really knew me, you’d know that i crave adventure, but don’t always get to go when i want to go.

if you really knew me, you’d know how much i care about the heart of people.

if you knew me, you’d know i don’t always know how to let go of something when i should.

if you knew me, you’d know i love the church, but moreso the people and the building often bothers me.

if you knew me, you’d know, that i think crayola is the one and only true crayon.

You would know I like pets as long as they are not mine.

You would know that I like to stay up late.

You would know that only my family calls me Jason.

You would know that I would die for my girls in a second.

You would know that I love singing and can’t stand my own voice.

You would know that I have a weakness for Coldstone and Diet Coke.

You would know that I live life in extremes.

You would know I love to make people laugh, but its usually just me laughing.

You would know that I desire to see young leaders supported well in our churches.

You would know I have not blogged in a really long time.
