My Debut
This past Sunday we were planning on just letting Ron end the service after his message, which answered the question of: “Can I Ever Be Good Enough?”. On last Monday night I first heard the song Lay it Down by Matt Maher and Brenton Brown. The song really hit me (I shared about that here) and I thought it would fit perfectly with the message, so the song ended the service. I share a little bit about its meaning to me at the beginning of the video.
The song starts at about 2:00, and really takes off at about 4:20. The camera is not on me for some of the song on purpose…the song isn’t about me.
I realize this is the first time for most of you, hearing me sing and play guitar. Enjoy.

Well done, Tyler. You’re very talented. And it’s great that the song meant so much to you and where you are. I can hear it in your voice.
You’re not too bad
Was this your first time in front of the church? That’s a big auditorium
jay-
no I’m up in front almost every week. that is part of my job. it was my first time doing a song with just guitar and vocals at Sunset though.
Very nice dude. I’ve been hearing some heavy stuff from people this week that I’ve just had to sit and breathe, pray and release to God.
I was just wondering when you might post some vid of yourself and thought about looking if there was anything on your church’s site.
I hope God will use that song in a powerful way with everyone who heard it.
Thanks.
thanks for that. very much needed to hear it.
Awesome, brother! Awesome. I love it. Thanks for posting that.
Sovann-
No there isn’t anything on the church’s website. We’re in the midst of an overhaul on that thing. We do have a youtube page though (user name: worshipatsunset).
Very nice! Impressed. Great song.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Very nice of you!
I missed this on Sunday. Wow! Absolutely incredible, Tyler. The Holy Spirit speaks through you when you sing. So bummed we didn’t get this in the NINE. It continues to be an honor to serve with you, friend. I love your heart for God and worship.
Simply awesome bro – simply awesome.
Tyler,
Loved it man, it truly truly brought me to a place of worship, I was doing business with God as you ministered.

Can I Be Good Enough
Yes I think we can be good enough for God and I think you are doing it right now when you decide to sing this song from Matt Maher was God putting this feeling to your heart to make you know that He is there for you and for us. Like a burning candle goes with the wind. Some time we forget to need down our problem to God feel but he always knew how to touch our heart to hold us put us in the right direction of our life yes Tyler you are good enough to go to heave.
I’m not much of a music critic, but I think you’ve definitely improved over the years. Glad that I can say I’ve seen the “evolution”. You’re a talented musician and worship leader my friend.
wow thanks ric, really appreciate it man. especially from someone who was their for my real debut, junior year of high school. hope you are well.
Tyler,
I’m really likin’ this song. You do an excellent job of it.
