A Not So Random Night

The sink is full of dishes.

There are 8 loads of laundry ready to be done.

The carpet hasn’t been vacuumed in week.

The bathrooms haven’t been cleaned in longer.

Today I was gone from 10am to 4pm. My wife was gone from 8am to 9pm.

Sure I had to do some reading for class and study for a test.

Sure I had books I wanted to read.

I had stuff to do, come on!

I was quite content to blow most of the night watching sports on tv.

Sure a night of relaxing was nice, but when isn’t it?

I think I fall short of being a good husband almost all the time. TV felt better than doing dishes, laundry, and cleaning for the night.

I’m easily able to think about myself…my needs, my wants, my desires. All of those things go above the things I should be about too often.

Some nights Most nights, I suck.

That’s pretty much my house right now. So, for next two weeks, no visitor. Need deep house cleaning.

Sometimes you just get to gut it out and do what you hate. My office is going to get a dose of that today. What I do to keep from being overwhelmed is put on a cd and clean till it’s over then I’m done. It’s like a built in alarm clock. Just remember don’t hit “play all” on your ipod or you could die of old age before you’re done.

Hang in there. It will be okay because we have a Great God.
