Piano Lessons in Portland

As most of you already know, I was able to keep my job (just a 3% cut) during some cuts and layoffs last week at my church.

One of the downsides of this is that one of my closest co-workers, Jill, lost 10 hours from her 30 hour job. Essentially she lost a third of her income. A pretty big deal for someone trying to support a family of 5. I’ve been thinking for a while about how I can try to help her, and tonight I finally thought of it (she doesn’t know about this).

Jill is the best piano player I’ve ever played with. I’m sure there are better players out there (not that many), but I haven’t played with them. Jill graduated from Azusa Pacific with a major in Music Theory and Piano Performance, and she knows how to play and teach others to play with feeling. That is so rare in most piano players. If there was anyone I could think of to take piano lessons from it would be Jill.

Her plan is to try and make up the lost income by doing more piano lessons than she currently does. Age doesn’t matter. She can teach old or young.

So here is how you can help. I’d love to use blogs/Facebook/Twitter to help Jill get some more piano students. I know that a lot of people don’t have the money for that, but I also know that a lot of people do. If you can blog or Twitter about this that would be great.

I’m not doing this so I can get more Twitter followers or blog hits. That isn’t the point at all. I’ve heard all along how powerful blogs and Twitter can be, and I want to use that power to help out a friend.

Jill lives in the Tualatin area of Portland, Oregon and teaches lessons out of her home.

If you are interested, leave a comment here and I’ll get you her contact information.

Thanks everyone.
