The Most Relaxing Day Ever!

Yesterday Rose and I went on a kayaking trip. It was the first touristy thing either of us have done in Homer on any of our trips. To those who made it possible (I know you don’t want to be named) thanks so much! It was beautiful in a way only Alaska can be beautiful; it was relaxing…it was exactly what we needed.

Our trip was on the other side of Kachemak Bay from Homer. There are no roads to that side of the bay, you have to take a boat or plane to get there. Incredible is how I can best describe it, so I’ll let the video show you just how incredible it was.

Isn’t it great when you can have an awesome day in the rain?

I know that I am in Africa and that is cool….but Lord have mercy, I want to be where you are!!! I think if I ever DO get married, Alaska is where I am honeymooning fot like 6 months lol….OR maybe I can do my “save the world” work from there and I can live in a hut under a mountain… that woud be amazing!!! lol im glad you are having so much fun!!

You skipped service planning for that??? Just kidding of course. I am not a kayak girl but with that kind of view who knows. Looked awesome. Miss you!

My mouth totally dropped when Rose took a bite of kelp!
Thanks for sharing that – it looks amazing up there. It’s so strange to see you guys all bundled up and my car says it’s 107* here!!

Brenna- Yes you can save the world from Alaska

Jill- I miss you all as well. Kayaking is so easy, you would enjoy it.

Jos- I just saw the weather forecast. Usually I’m all for hot weather, but not 100 degrees. I’ll take 55 over that any day.

tyler, phil and i did 18 miles of sea kayaking off the NaPali coast of Kauai back in May – a totally unihabited area- just dolphins and sea turtles and monk seals. It was TOUGH but incredible. Very memorable. Now I’ve added kayaking in Alaska to my life list….thanks for sharing.

tell rose I love the hat. i would look dorky, but she is so cute in it!
