Chris Tomlin Has Taken Over iTunes

I typically go onto iTunes late Monday (usually around 11pm Monday Pacific Time it updates for the new week) or Tuesday to look over the new music for the week. Since I’ve had Tomlin’s new album Hello Love for a couple weeks (not sharing my secret) I forgot about it and when I went to the iTunes store today he was everywhere!

Now I haven’t been shy about my love for Chris’ music. He is the person I learned guitar playing with and the person who produced a passion for worshiping God in me.

However, I will say this…it is too much of him on iTunes. I’ve never seen so much of one person or band (other than American Idol crap) on iTunes at one time. Let me give a few examples.

So I guess all the publicity does one good thing…sells a lot of albums. I don’t think I’ve seen many other (if any) Christian albums as high as #3. It is a great album, although I like Charlie Hall’s new album just as much if not more. Since I’ve listened to the album a bit…here are my favorites:

  1. Praise the Father, Praise the Son
  2. I Will Rise
  3. Exalted (Yahweh)
  4. Love (Rose made me put it in, the African choir makes her cry)
  5. Jesus Messiah

What are your first thoughts on the new record?

    Janet- of course.

CJ- I think we’ve talked about how cool it would be to be related to Tim Hughes…so this is pretty similar. No we aren’t related as much as I’d wish that. As far as I know I got the album completely legally.

    Jan- Sounds good.

I absolutely loved it. I thought it was Great. My favorite right now is Sing, Sing, Sing. I didn’t know about the whole iTunes thing, but I love all his other cd’s too.

my first thought when i heard the whole cd on rhapsody (you could listen for free prior to the release date of 9/2) was “wow….it’s so different *production-wise* than ‘See the Morning’”. There were “snipits” of 3 songs at the 268store site and one of those songs was/is “I Will Rise”. I had an instanteous heart-connection to that song……could hardly wait until i could hear the whole of it. Wow….Chris has stopped short of saying this is the “most” special song on the cd…but i affectionately beg to differ….it’s like the boys wrote about my walk with Christ now, before-hand…does that make sense?

Anyway, I love the WHOLE of “Hello Love”. A fabulous collection of songs for the Church.

BTW….who are you? I found your blog thru Aaron Ivey’s site….
