What the Future Holds

A lot has been made recently about the validity of online community. Just about every big name church in America now as an “online campus” and has pastors who use many social media networks in an effort to boost the community feel of their churches.

I saw this video earlier today (thanks for John at ChurchCrunch) and I think it is a hilarious depiction of what happens when we let this online community and “church” being anywhere go too far.

Enjoy (RSS readers, what the video here):

Does this scare you even a little?

I laughed as I was watching it and then started to wonder if it’s actually legit. If it is, then I would love to read about peoples thoughts and comments. I’m sure there would be some strong reactions on both sides. Thanks for sharing

If that is legit, then I’m a pirate….. (prepared to possibly say “Arrrrr.”)

I actually just posted this comment on church crunch before coming over here and reading your post.

I was just waiting for the end piece to say.

“thought this was ridiculous? Not as ridiculous as church online….”
Or some kind of slam against the idea of going to church online.

Tyler, masswepray.com: it is a real “virtual church” game. That video is not a parody. Wish it was.

Right now I just think that is more funny than sad. Not sure why, but that is where I’m at.
