Last week I led worship in both services at Sunset, today I led worship for just the 11am. Here was the set:
- Glory (E, Hillsong)
- Counting on God (B, New Life)
- Reign in Us (A, Starfield)
- Came to My Rescue (C, Hillsong)
- God of This City (Db, Bluetree)
Many of you know that we usually have two practices a week (something that is changing soon), well this week we had some guys sick and were only able to do one practice. YET the band was as still solid as ever. We had a first time drummer that came as ready for every song as I can ever remember. He was absolutely spot on…nailing transitions, tempos, and accents. It was an absolute blast playing with him.
Reign in Us was a new song this week. I introduced the chorus and then we did the full song and added a chorus at the end beyond what the Starfield recording does. The song reminds me a lot of Mighty to Save and I dig it.
We had a lot of extra stuff in the service: a few videos, a guest speaker, special offering…so I did like almost zero talking. That always takes a little pressure off of leading.
This is the 3rd time we’ve done Counting on God. Not sure if the congregation has grabbed a hold of it yet or not.
Came to My Rescue is such an incredible song…love it, love it, love it.
It was a great morning to be with the church.
