I am a man of many opinions. In many, many ways this is a bad thing. Figuring out when to share my opinion and when to keep my cards near my chest is not an easy thing to do.

So today I’m not going to share my opinion. But I do have a question. A question that I probably think about every day. I am always thinking about and looking for a great congregational worship song. One that has energy, passion, engages, and is singable for the average person.

So my question to you…

What is your favorite worship song right now?

If you can’t think of just one, it is ok to share a few.

probably “Where the Love Last Forever” by Hillsong London… I’ll probably think of a different one once I hit submit.

honestly my favorite worship songs are probably not “mainstream” in churches. i know i shared w/ you misty edwards from the int’l house of prayer in kc at one point. those are my probably my absolutes…

BUT- i am a particularly huge fan of Desperation Band’s “Freedom” and “From the Rooftops,” Morning Star’s “O Jah” and NLC’s “You Are.”

    Rescue

You are the source of life
    I can’t be left behind
    No one else will do
I will take hold of you

    I need you Jesus
    To come to my rescue
    Where else can Igo
    There’s no other name by
    Which I am saved
    Capture me with grace
    I will follow you

This world has nothing for me
    I will follow You
this world has nothing for me
    I will follow you

Terry- We’re introducing that song next week! We finally got over all the talk about doing it and we’re going to do it.

For us, anything Gateway/Kari Jobe goes over very well with our church, who has a mix of older and younger people. They LOVE “Revelation Song”, “No Sweeter Name”, “We Cry Out”. Also, Brooke Frasure’s “Hosanna”, and Chris Tomlin’s “Jesus Messiah”.
Hard to name one favorite, but I think I’ll have to say Revelation Song, at this point in time. Next month it may be something else. But the song really ministers to people, and ushers them into a unique experience with God, creating the imagery of worshiping in heaven, before God Himself.

Oh, I’ll add, I like to blend two or three worship songs into a medley, and we do that pretty often. We have “remixed” Holy Spirit Rain Down with Here I Am To Worship; Amazing Love with None But Jesus (Hillsong); No Sweeter Name with There’s Just Something About That Name, and lots more.
It really adds to the dynamics of the worship song.

Leann- I would say that Revelation Song has been our church’s favorite over the past year. Not for everyone obviously, but people have really grabbed a hold of it.
