Today I’ll be celebrating Rose’s birthday most of the day.

But I’ll also be watching the dunk content because she has to work. I’m ready to see how D-Howard follows up the Superman routine.

Blogs

  1. Rob Bell shared some great stuff at NPC this week. His talk was centered around the importance of forgiveness amidst the criticism pastors receive.
  2. For those American Idol fans that either didn’t like or did like Jason Castro…you have to see THIS.
  3. Even Hugh Hewitt is sharing his voice in the Mac/PC debate.
  4. Richard Dahlstrom on teaching the whole gospel.
  5. A book about a book: God in The Shack.
  6. Mark Driscoll on the Sabbath and work.

Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Mr. Phoenix had to be playing at something, or he just really hates Letterman. I’m not a particular fan of Letterman, but I thought he handled the situation well, especially his last line.

And the Jason Castro video was cool.

i feel kind of sorry for Joaquin Phoenix because he does seem genuinely disoriented and Letterman gave him a hard time about it

what made me laugh was the comments at the end of that rob bell blog. amazing to me that people would rather argue the intent of bell’s point rather than “accept it”…whoa, his first point in the whole forgiveness issue. either way…bell’s msg was important. and he probably focused on ONE aspect of the pastoral criticism and forgiveness. we all need to grow and learn. BUT yes, realizing the hurt and forgiving, releasing to the cross is important. it’s not just black and white. of course, you already know that i have enormous respect for bell, so my comment here is nothing new?

happy birthday to your wife! on love day…that’s just great…hope you were good to her. wink

5000 pastors, purely biblical…so they say, c’mon now, every sermon is still their perception of the scripture…so what does it mean to be “purely biblical” if it’s not straight from the hebrew or greek? relevant or helpful are subjective words in my opinion.

Tyler, great great articles on Bell and also from Driscoll. Thank you for sharing. I am really hoping to attend the NPC next year! I think the forgiveness article is one anyone in ministry should read. It’s SO TRUE and after 14 years of vocational ministry, I’m just now learning some of this stuff. Sadly.

As for Phoenix, that was sad. I felt sort of sorry for him because I think something must be genuinely wrong with him in some way…..it was very weird and sort of sad. I wonder what’s up.
